Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Hvayate ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use our website and platform ("Service"). By using Hvayate, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, password, and role (student or teacher).
- Profile information: photo, bio, subjects, qualifications (for teachers), learning preferences (for students).
- Booking and payment information: sessions you book, amounts paid, and transaction identifiers from our payment processors. We do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: messages exchanged on the platform and support emails.
- Technical data: device type, browser, IP address, and usage analytics needed to operate and improve the Service.
2. How we use information
- To operate the marketplace: account creation, bookings, payments and live class delivery.
- To verify teacher profiles and maintain trust and safety.
- To process payments and release funds to teachers after session completion.
- To send service-related notifications and respond to support requests.
- To prevent fraud, abuse and to comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing of information
We share limited information with teachers and students as necessary to facilitate a booking (for example, name and contact details for a confirmed class). We use trusted third-party processors for payments, hosting and analytics. We do not sell your personal data.
4. Payment processing
Payments are handled by PCI-compliant payment gateways. Hvayate holds funds in escrow and releases them to the teacher only after a session is completed, in line with our Refund Policy.
5. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements.
6. Your rights
You may request access, correction or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at support@hvayate.com. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may also have rights to data portability and to object to certain processing.
7. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong password and keep your account credentials safe.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. Where a minor uses Hvayate, a parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account and provide consent.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform.
